Construction End in Sight

We are all very excited as the limecrete floor is currently being poured, and after a winter of dire weather (snow from November through Christmas) construction is once again in full swing and the end is in sight again. As the Rookery is a grade II listed building, the Stables renovation must use appropriate (and costly) natural  materials and traditional methods such as lathe and plaster ceilings, and the aforementioned limecrete floor (a sort of ancient breathable concrete). The walls are being 'bagged' with lime plaster which should show the natural contours of the stone underneath. The upstairs is taking shape, although there are no actual stairs to get there yet! But as soon as the floor is set (which should take about 3 to 4 weeks) then work on this will start.
