From the M4

Take the Chippenham junction of the M4, and head north towards Cirencester (there is a Garage close to the junction which (at the moment) has the cheapest fuel in the area.)
Continue through Corston Village.
As you get closer to Malmesbury you enter the 40 mph limit,
After the road bends to the right there are some houses on the right. Slow down.
The Rookery is on the right with a black gate about 50 yards before the 30mph limit.

If you go through into the 30 mph area you have missed us. Continue to the roundabout at the end of the road and come back on yourself. We are now on the left after the turning to Storey Mews, a set of modern houses.

From the A429 via Cirencester

Take all signposts towards Malmesbury - note there is a left hand turn off the main road from Cirencester.
However when you have gone through Kemble (noting that Malmesbury is another 5 miles) then take signs for the M4.
At the outskirts of Malmesbury continue straight over 2 roundabouts ignoring signs to Malmesbury, and following signs to the M4.
After the second roundabout the Police Station is on your left, with the Health Centre after it on the left, you are close. Slow down.
You should exit the 30 mph and enter the 40 mph limit.
The Rookery is on the left just after the turning to Storey Mews, which is a set of modern houses.

Railway, Car Hire, and Airport

We are 20 minutes taxi ride from two railway stations which are both on the London Mainline (about 70 minutes to London), Chippenham and Kemble. Note Kemble is a more rural station and so unless you prebook a taxi, Chippenham would be a better choice. If you intend to take the train, please let us know and we can help you navigate your way here. A taxi ride from either station will cost roughly £25.

There is an Enterprise Car Hire a minute's walk from the Chippenham station, and (as of August 2015) Enterprise is offering a weekend special with their cheapest car being about £50 for a Friday to Monday rental.  Click here for the Enterprise Website. Please note we have no affiliation with Enterprise Car Hire, we just thought it was quite a good deal. To get to the Enterprise Car Hire from the station, when you leave train and climb up from the platform to the footbridge bridge, turn left at the top of the bridge towards the car park (rather than going right towards the ticket office) and the Enterprise office is just outside the station car park.

Kemble boasts a small airfield; great to sit in the cafe and watch the aircraft. However if you are suitably qualified then you could fly there and get a taxi to us easily.

If you are flying to Heathrow, then a taxi to Malmesbury is roughly £150 one way. A cheaper option is to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station, and then then the mainline train to Chippenham.  As of January 2014, the cheapest return ticket costs about £80 per person. Please check the trainline.com for times and ticket costs. Chippenham is also served by the National Express coach service which costs about £30 per person return to/from Heathrow. The coach drop off point is in Chippenham highstreet about 4 minutes walk from the railway station.

Google Streetview

You may find it helpful to use Google's Streetview to familiarise yourself with the area. While The Rookery is visible from the road (to the right of the red cherry blossom tree), the Stables is hidden in this view behind the green tree to the left of the Cherry blossom. (On the Streetview site, please excuse our recycling bins - you can't pick the time when the Google vehicles are going to drive past!) Also note that the building site next to us (on streetview) is now a nice new finished set of houses - Storey Mews.
